Inspired by the chaos of nature, American photographer and explorer Cody Cobb tries to find and capture stillness in nature, resulting in stunning, moving landscape images. He is based in Seattle, Washington, and his work has won several awards already. Wandering the wilderness, Cody immerses himself completely in nature. This enables him to record calm and still moments in the natural rawness.

Portraying mountains, lakes, forests, and deserts in their humble and majestic way, the photographs radiate a sense of mysticism, strength, and softness. Cody aims to show the Earth’s surfaces in their raw, untouched state, free from human interference.

The photographer finds most of these magical landscapes in the American West. “The American West has exposed me to such incredibly diverse landscapes. I can walk along rugged coastlines, glaciated valleys, exposed ridgelines, dense old-growth forests, lava tubes, rivers, deserts, glaciers, canyons, etc. I prefer the more isolated and remote areas but even popular places like Yosemite NP are exciting to me,” Cody said in a previous interview with The Independent Photographer. These environments result in breathtaking images that evoke a solitary and peaceful feeling. He is a master in combining textural and light elements and always creates sensitive, poetic images that almost feel surreal.
