nortstudio is the passion project founded by a talented couple who joined forces in life and in their careers. Jef De Brabandar, an industrial engineer, and Katheel Opdenacker, a graphic designer, base their studio and workshop in Antwerp, where they create furniture, lighting, and objects inspired by unique shapes and textures.

Combining their individual professional backgrounds and their love for design, the design duo creates pieces that make a statement. “We immediately experienced the advantages of working as a couple. Complete trust, understanding each other and never blaming one another, made it right from the start,” the couple says. Joining their visions, they design geometric furniture that plays with color, shape, and character.

The designers take inspiration from their surroundings and the growing city they live in for their works and even for the name of the studio. “The North of Antwerp is a multicultural neighborhood full of contrasts of all sorts,” they say. “Finding harmony throughout an enormous variety is a daily challenge. The name of our studio is diverted from the word 'North’.” Taking inspiration from the materials and forms they find throughout the city, they rearrange the foundations of design into entirely unique products. nortstudio is all in for experimentation, a studio that pushes the boundaries in search of new possibilities and a fresh perspective on creative techniques.
